A Week Packed with Inspiration
Pupils at St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary School in Billingham enjoyed an exciting and inspiring Careers Week, meeting a variety of professionals and learning about a wide range of career paths.
Throughout the week, visitors shared their experiences, career journeys and valuable insights into their day-to-day roles, helping pupils understand the many opportunities available to them in the future.
Learning from Industry Professionals
The week began with visits from two parents: a vet and an engineer from the Royal Navy, who gave fascinating presentations about their professions and the skills required for their roles.
Former pupils also returned to school to share their career journeys, speaking about their work as a sports therapist and cabin crew member. Pupils were also delighted to hear from a talented author, who provided an insight into the world of writing and publishing.
Exploring Exciting Career Opportunities
Later in the week, a gaming producer introduced pupils to the exciting world of game development and provided feedback to Year 6 pupils on games they had created themselves.
The school was also honoured to welcome representatives from the local police and fire brigade, who spoke about careers in public service and the important work they do within the community.
Broadening Horizons
Careers Week has been a wonderful opportunity for pupils to learn about different professions, ask questions and begin thinking about their own future ambitions.
It has been a week full of inspiration, learning and memorable experiences for everyone involved.
